What about my anti-depressants, do I need to stop them?

What about my anti-depressants, do I need to stop them? Will there be any adverse reactions?

You do not need to stop taking your medication. This technique will still be effective whilst you are on most medications. Obviously though, as by nature, antidepressants stop you from feeling your true state of being, antidepressants will dampen the effect a little bit. Many people find this a good thing though as they resolve the antidepressants being a form of ‘bandage’ while the deeper wound is worked on and healed through the sessions. So when they finish treatment with ‘The Depression Solution’ and they are ready to come of the antidepressants, they will often experience going from feeling good - medication induced, to feeling good - natural state induced. 

Is this like hypnosis or another technique that I have already tried?

It is very far removed from Hypnosis. You will not experience a ‘going under’. You will be conscious from beginning to the end. In this way you will be able to properly ‘integrate’ and appreciate the true cause of your depression symptoms. The closest technique that comes to this is ‘Regression’ which is an umbrella term which includes under it’s name many different modalities. The difference with ‘The Depression Solution’ type of regression is its emphasis on ‘emotional memory’ level regression. To uncover memories on a ‘mental memory’ level is common. But as many people have experienced, getting insights and realizations on a mental level about your self does not cause change in your emotional state of being. Mental level therapy does not cause a transformation of your symptoms. Emotional level work is what causes your emotional state to change for the better. Emotional level memory is what every session deals with the techniques we use.  

Do I have to learn a technique to practise before I get results?

No. It works first time, every time. You will not be given a technique or ‘homework’ to do to get beneficial results. You do not even have to believe in the theory/ philosophy behind the mechanism of the technique. Any one who follows the instruction of the particular breathing style and has the intention to get to the cause of their depression symptoms will experience a healing like nothing else we are aware of will give them (and we at ‘The Depression Solution’ have been around for a while and as a collective have tried nearly all the modalities made available to us over the last 20 years).

You call this 'cathartic breathwork'. Does this mean I could be traumatised?

No! This perception is unfortunately a reflection of the level of general ignorance and misunderstanding that exists in society when it comes to emotional healing. Rebirthing is not traumatic - it brigs old trauma to the surface to be re-experienced and consciously felt, and in the feeling of it, it is healed.

For the majority of deep 'wounding' this bringing to conscious awareness of the emotional pain is necessary. It is the failure of many healing modalities not to do this. This is why so many people experience going through 'a hundred and one' healing modalities to no avail.

Will I be able to function after a session?

You will be able to drive and take care of logistics but we recommend you do not plan much for the rest of the day after your session. Especially the first few sessions. This is a powerful technique which can leave people in a very altered state or vulnerable  for a while after the session so we recommend time out to be with yourself.

I have tried everything out there, how come this will work? How is it different?

Lots of modalities do exist out there, granted. This works because it does not allow your mind to get in the way. We do not try and figure things out on a logical/ mental level as you might with a friend. This works because it by-passes the mind and its defence mechanism and enables you to get to the very cause of the matter at hand that your mind has blinded you from. People describe this as the future of psychotherapy for a reason. It is different... not to mention powerful, eye opening and effective.
